Six Lands, One Vision: Exploring the Themed Zones of Six Flags Qiddiya City

Listen to this article

Designed as a fully immersive destination rather than a collection of headline rides, Six Flags Qiddiya City is organised into six distinct themed zones, each with its own atmosphere, narrative and ride mix. Together, they create a park that rewards exploration, with thrill levels and storytelling shifting organically as guests move from land to land.

City of Thrills

As the name suggests, City of Thrills is the park’s adrenaline core. This is where Six Flags Qiddiya City pushes the boundaries of scale and intensity, anchored by Falcon’s Flight, the record-breaking Exa Coaster from Intamin, billed as the world’s tallest, fastest and longest roller coaster.

Nearby, Sirocco Tower delivers a vertical thrill experience on a monumental scale, while Adrena-Line, a suspended coaster from Vekoma, sweeps riders across the skyline. Supporting attractions such as Windrider add kinetic movement and visual energy, reinforcing City of Thrills as a bold, futuristic statement of intent.

Twilight Gardens

Twilight Gardens shifts the pace again, offering a softer, story-led environment designed for families and multi-generational groups. Lush landscaping and whimsical theming set the stage for The Enchanted Greenhouse, an interactive dark ride created by a consortium including JoraVision, ETF Ride Systems and Alterface, where guests actively influence the ride outcome.

The gentle Twilight Express family coaster and water-play attraction Amirat Al Buhayra reinforce the land’s emphasis on discovery and imagination, making Twilight Gardens a natural pause point between more intense zones.

Discovery Springs

Discovery Springs introduces a cooler, aquatic aesthetic inspired by underwater caverns and hidden worlds. The zone focuses on movement, water and vertical viewpoints, with attractions designed to be both experiential and visually engaging.

Rides such as Into the Deep and Aquatopia immerse guests in the land’s theme, while Zoomaflooma rises above the area, offering sweeping views back across the park. Although not home to the entrance of Colossus, Discovery Springs is widely regarded as one of the best places to watch the Grand Exposition-based wooden-hybrid coaster thunder past water features and landscaped pathways, adding spectacle even for non-riders.

Steam Town

From high-tech spectacle, the park transitions into the clanking gears and eccentric inventions of Steam Town. This steampunk-inspired land blends humour and mechanical fantasy with a diverse ride line-up.

Headlining the area is Iron Rattler, a tilt coaster that plays with anticipation and illusion, alongside Saw Mill Falls, a water-based adventure ride that weaves through industrial scenery. Flat rides including Sprockenator and Steel Stampede add rotation and unpredictability, while Steam Town Carnival Games complete the fairground-meets-factory atmosphere. It’s a land that balances thrills with character, appealing as much to families as to coaster fans.

Valley of Fortune

Adventure and exploration define Valley of Fortune, a land shaped around the idea of lost riches and daring expeditions. Spitfire, a multi-launch coaster from Intamin, provides a high-energy centrepiece, while attractions such as Canyon Charters and Skywatch offer soaring and panoramic experiences that emphasise scale and setting.

With its rugged architecture and narrative cues, Valley of Fortune feels purpose-built for guests who enjoy rides with a sense of journey and discovery rather than pure intensity alone.

Grand Exposition

Grand Exposition brings the park together with a classic world’s-fair atmosphere, celebrating spectacle, movement and shared experience. The centre piece of this zone is Collossus, a wooden-hybrid coaster featuring the latest Infinity Flyer trains from Great Coasters International, whose sweeping layout and breath-taking traditional structure extends visually into neighbouring lands. Wrapping around the park like a blast from the past, it transports everyone who stands in its shadow on a psychological journey into the theme parks of their collective memories, as riders and trains howl past overhead visible from numerous zones.

The area also features Arabian Carousel, Expo Flyer and Gyrospin, alongside carnival games that reinforce the celebratory tone. Acting as both a destination and a connector, Grand Exposition plays a key role in guest flow, offering lighter attractions without sacrificing scale or presence.

Together, the six zones of Six Flags Qiddiya City demonstrate a carefully layered approach to park design – one that blends record-breaking ambition with legibility, atmosphere and variety. Rather than competing for attention, each land complements the next, creating a park that feels cohesive, navigable and unmistakably built for a global audience.
