A new UK attraction is being developed on the site of two parks that were devastated by floods last year.

Kidzworld play facility and the adjoining Charlie’s Adventureland in the south-western county of Cornwall were both submerged by floodwater that swept through the area last November.

With the play equipment and infrastructure now reportedly damaged beyond repair, the sites’ owner, Wellington Market Company, has decided to open a new, combined attraction to cater for families.

Malcolm Ball, chief executive of WMC, commented: "The flooding devastated our site and although we were able to get The Kids’ Academy and Cornish Market World back open within 10 days, the children’s play facilities were a completely different story."

"We’ve employed Vision XS, one of the world’s leading experts in visitor attractions, and they’ve come up with a fantastic plan for the site that will introduce a whole new experience for our visitors – significantly bigger than anything we’ve offered before.

"We are effectively starting with a clean sheet and have developed a new, activity-based attraction that the whole family can experience together – whatever the weather."
