Kings Island has unveiled plans for 2024 with the expansion of the Award-Winning Kids’ Area which will be home to a new Family Boomerang Coaster and a new immersive adventure play space of Camp Snoopy.

The park’s newest roller coaster will be Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers and will be the amusement park’s first family boomerang coaster.

The exciting feature of the coaster will be that it will race riders both forward and backward on the same track.

Kings Island confirmed that Snoopy’s Soap Box Racers ‘takes the classic fun of a soap box racing derby to a whole new level as both parents and kids climb aboard their favorite Peanuts-decorated soap box coaster car.’

Riders will start their journey up a 70ft hill to the starting line. As Snoopy waves the checkered flag, riders will be released and launched forward for a fun journey passing the camp lookout station and racing toward the finish line up ahead. As riders believe the journey is coming to an end, the train of soapbox cars will roll backward, traversing the same course in reverse.

The other addition to the park is the formation of the Beagle Scouts at Camp Snoopy. Beagle Scout Acres, the official headquarters of the troop, will provide more outdoor summer camp fun and activities according to Kings Island. The new shaded, nature-themed play area will captivate kids through the camp’s ‘Camptivities’ led by the Peanuts gang throughout the day.

Eager Beagle Scouts can also work to earn merit badges for sharing, working together, trying new things, and helping someone in need.

Construction on Camp Snoopy, including the coaster and Beagle Scout Acres, will begin this autumn.

“Camp Snoopy is just what families visiting Kings Island have been looking for,” said Mike Koontz, vice president and general manager of Kings Island.

“We’ve designed this new immersive area to feel like a day at camp where families can spend time with each other in a variety of ways, from the thrill of a new coaster to exploring and relaxing in the great outdoors with their favorite Peanuts characters.”
