Belgian technology specialist Alterface supplied 560 custom interactive devices to deliver a fully personalised, geolocation-driven guest experience inside Netflix House Dallas.

Alterface has revealed its role in powering Stranger Things: Face the Dark, the immersive walk-through experience at Netflix House Dallas. The Belgium-based company supplied 560 custom interactive devices for the attraction. Each device guides and immerses guests individually throughout the experience. The announcement, made on 19 March 2026, confirms Alterface as a key technology partner behind one of the most talked-about new permanent venues in the attractions sector.

Netflix House Dallas opened late 2024 as a first-of-its-kind entertainment venue. Stranger Things: Face the Dark sits among its headline experiences. Set in Hawkins, Indiana, following the events of Season 4, guests join a search-and-rescue mission. They explore locations including Castle Byers and Eddie Munson’s trailer, each armed with a flashlight and headphones delivering binaural audio.

Alterface designed the devices with a deliberate 1980s aesthetic to match the show’s visual world. The company developed custom electronics, firmware and software. It also managed seamless integration with other technology vendors powering the attraction. The result is a system that responds in real time to each guest’s movement and location throughout the experience.

Stéphane Battaille, chief executive of Alterface, said: ‘With Stranger Things: Face the Dark, guests actually step into the world of Stranger Things and interact with the story in a way that feels natural and alive. It’s the kind of next-generation immersive experience we strive to create, where technology operates invisibly to support the story.’

The system uses a customised geolocation platform to track every visitor simultaneously. Audio and visual feedback respond instantly to each guest’s position. If groups split up, the narrative follows them separately. When they regroup, the storytelling synchronises without interruption.

Etienne Sainton, product manager at Alterface, said: ‘It was a unique challenge to integrate a fast and precise geolocation system, customised to deliver a personalised show for each guest. Thanks to our previous technology developments and the clear vision of every partner, this has become one of the most interesting and fun experiences we’ve had the opportunity to bring to life.’
