PortAventura confirms opening dates for two major family attractions

PortAventura World has confirmed that its two flagship additions for the 2026 season will open before the end of July, strengthening the Spanish resort’s family offering during the peak summer period.

The first to debut will be Coral Bay: The Lost Legend, opening on 23 July at Caribe Aquatic Park. A week later, on 30 July, guests will be able to experience Makamanu Jungle: The Adventure Trek in the Polynesia area of PortAventura Park. The dates have now been confirmed by the resort following earlier announcements that both attractions would open during the summer season.

Coral Bay: The Lost Legend represents a significant expansion of Caribe Aquatic Park, adding more than 6,000 square metres of themed family attractions. The pirate-inspired area introduces Cyclone, described by the resort as Europe’s first family water coaster, alongside Bahía Pirata, billed as the world’s first multi-adventure pool. The development also includes a five-slide tower, a splash play area for younger children and new food and beverage facilities.

The second project, Makamanu Jungle: The Adventure Trek, transforms part of the Polynesia zone into an interactive outdoor adventure experience. The attraction features a 135-metre elevated course with rope bridges, tunnels, treehouse-style structures and slides, encouraging families to explore the themed environment together rather than simply queue for traditional rides. The route has been designed to appeal to a broad age range and includes accessible elements for guests with reduced mobility.

The twin investments reflect PortAventura World’s continued focus on broadening its family entertainment portfolio rather than relying solely on headline thrill rides. The resort first revealed the projects during FITUR in January before providing further construction details in June, positioning both additions as key components of its 2026 summer programme.

The openings also coincide with an expanded summer line-up at the resort, which includes extended operating hours, evening entertainment and seasonal events across PortAventura Park, Ferrari Land and Caribe Aquatic Park.
