The Irish theme park will re-theme an existing area with a new Wild Swing ride, Dino Dash, live encounters and themed food.

Emerald Park has revealed new details for Lost Valley: Land of Dinosaurs, a re-themed area due to open in summer 2026 at the Irish theme park and zoo in Ashbourne, County Meath. The project matters now because it adds another family-focused attraction zone ahead of the peak summer trading period.

The development will transform an existing part of the park into a dinosaur themed land. It will combine a new Wild Swing ride with the existing Dino Dash family coaster, live Dino Meet & Greets, themed food, photo points and prehistoric decoration.

The new Wild Swing will anchor the area for the 2026 season. Emerald Park describes the attraction as a family-friendly swing ride with smooth rotation and sweeping motion.

Trade reports identify the ride as a 12-metre Wild Swing model from German manufacturer ART Engineering. The gondola will seat 16 riders in two back-to-back rows of eight.

Dino Dash will remain central to Emerald Park Lost Valley: Land of Dinosaurs. The coaster will sit inside a revised setting with new theming, dinosaur figures and sound effects.

The park will also add live dinosaur meet-and-greet experiences. Guests can encounter a T-Rex, a Velociraptor and baby Triceratops twins, guided by the park’s Dino Rangers.

The investment has been reported at around €3 million. An official opening date is expected to follow, with Emerald Park currently confirming a summer 2026 launch window.

Charles Coyle, managing director of Emerald Park, said: ‘We’re delighted to bring “Lost Valley: Land of Dinosaurs” to life for our guests.’

The Emerald Park Lost Valley: Land of Dinosaurs project follows recent investment at the park, which is home to rides, zoo attractions and family entertainment. Its 2026 opening will give Ireland’s theme park market another themed family offer before the main holiday season.
