Europa-Park glows in Christmas sea of lights

Christmas has arrived at Europa-Park with a host of festive activities.

The Winter Magic illuminates the Rust-based theme park in Germany with the bonus this Christmas of a new themed area which will be opening for the anniversary winter season called Winterland.

What to expect at Winterland

“The atmospheric Winterland themed area is opening for the anniversary year! Look forward to award-winning artists from Monaco in the winter circus revue ‘Monte Carlo Circus Festival meets Europa-Park’ – a preview of the new Monaco 2026 themed area,” said Europa-Park.

“Next door, the ‘Ice Sculpture Dome – Time Travel to 1975’ features an impressive exhibition of ice sculptures showing attractions from Europa-Park’s opening year.

“Freezing temperatures, sparkling works of art and a glimpse into the past: step into an impressive ice landscape! To mark the end of Europa-Park’s 50th birthday celebrations, the theme park’s first attractions will receive acknowledgement in the form of fascinating ice sculptures. The entrance to the exhibition is located right next to the Winter Circus, presented by the Magnum Ice Cream Company.

“Stroll through the entrance from 1975 and experience Europa-Park from 50 years ago in a literally ‘cool’ way.”

Winter Wonderland awaits

In addition, Europa-Park will be draped with Xmas décor and themed to its iconic country-themed destinations. In the Nordic-themed area, you find the Nordic Winter Village. “Take elegant spins on the ice rink or treat yourself to punch and mulled wine in an atmospheric setting. For the brave, the thrill of a ride on WODAN – Timburcoaster awaits right next door,” entices Europa-Park.

Meanwhile, in the Portuguese-themed area, guests can enjoy a beautiful wintry view from the heated gondolas on the ‘Bellevue’ Ferris wheel and enjoy to some hearty delicacies during a lunch break at the ERDINGER Hütt’n.

Over in the French-themed area, an enchanting atmosphere awaits at the colourful Miraculeux – mapping show. While the Eurosat CanCan Coaster takes you on a thrilling rollercoaster ride, whatever the weather.

In the German-themed area, the classic festive experience of a Christmas market can be savoured in the Balthasar Castle Park. Here, guests can stock up on Christmas gifts or enjoy the atmosphere with a hot cup of mulled wine.
