Theme park to open Netflix-licensed immersive experience on 27 August, with under-15s and pacemaker wearers barred from taking part

Huis Ten Bosch, the Dutch-themed park in Sasebo, Nagasaki Prefecture, will open a permanent attraction based on Netflix series Alice in Borderland on 27 August 2026. The ‘death game’ experience fits every participant with a replica of the show’s signature explosive collar before sending them into a 30-minute survival challenge. It marks the latest addition to a run of new openings at the PAG-owned resort, which launched an Evangelion-themed 8K ride in April.

Named Alice in Borderland: Immersive Death Game, the attraction is based on an experience previously staged at Immersive Fort Tokyo. Participants wear a collar fitted with a control box and must clear a betrayal-based challenge called the ‘Hearts Game’ before time runs out, according to the park’s official attraction page. The collar cannot be removed until the game is cleared or the time limit expires.

Entry is restricted to guests aged 15 and over, with junior high school students explicitly barred. Huis Ten Bosch has also excluded anyone fitted with medical electrical devices, including pacemakers, from taking part.

Reports of the collar delivering a genuine electric shock have circulated in some English-language coverage, citing wording on the attraction’s webpage about an electric current running through the device. The park’s own Japanese-language materials describe a release mechanism and dramatic effects rather than confirmed shock delivery, and the exact mechanism has not been detailed publicly. InterPark has sought clarification from Huis Ten Bosch.

The attraction sits within Attraction Town, Huis Ten Bosch’s indoor entertainment zone, and runs for around 30 minutes excluding briefing and collar fitting. No additional fee applies beyond standard park admission, though a paid express pass will be available given anticipated demand.

Alice in Borderland, based on Haro Aso’s manga, has placed in Netflix’s global top ten in more than 90 territories across three seasons since its 2020 debut. Huis Ten Bosch is owned by Hong Kong-based investment firm PAG, which has backed a string of recent additions at the resort, including the Evangelion: The Ride 8K attraction in April and the Miffy Wonder Square area.
