Legoland Germany opened their new themed area of Lego Mythica this spring – and is proving a hit with guests.

The 11th-themed area of Lego Mythica is home to 14 colourfully creative Lego models which covers a vast 1.2-hectare area. The models were made of a total of 1.5 million Lego bricks – with four of them brought to life using the Legoland Germany Deutschland app and augmented reality.

Inside the delights of Lego Mythica are a small grey mouse with brightly coloured butterfly wings, a monochrome dog with a colourful peacock tail and a rhinoceros covered with a flower meadow of various plants.

The biggest model is the sky lion Maximus, which adorns the facade of the station of the Wing Coaster, which was built as the focal coaster attraction. With a size of about 5 metres, a weight of almost three tons and consisting of 686,000 Lego bricks, the mythical guardian towers above the station building of the ride attraction.

“I have already seen many models and have also made some creations out of Lego bricks myself,” detailed Helmut Ziegler, detailed of Lego Mythica.

“With the Lego Mythica models, it’s not just the construction that impresses me, but above all the creative ideas behind them. But of course, also the implementation, such as the great colour gradients in the mane of the sky lion or in the wings of the leopard owl.”

For adrenaline thrill seekers, the rush of the world’s first Legoland Wing Coaster Maximus – The Guardian’s Flight, is unmatched. The experience of dangling your legs while sweeping through the area has wowed guests since it opened.

Another fun ride is the freefall drop tower of the Fire & Ice Tower. And, as Legoland Germany rightly point out, “roller coaster action and joyful thrills are guaranteed.”

The area serves for education purposes to with guests encouraged and inspired to get hands on by building Lego bricks themselves. The park has various creative zones to let loose your imagination such as “Rebuild the World” and “LEGO Building Fun.” The Mythica CreaZone has become the third Lego building centre in the family theme park. Visitors can get creative themselves and “help shape part of the Legoland world.”

And the children who are seeking further adventure can head over to LavaLand, a multi-storey playground of climbing frames and fun slides.

Lego Mythica has all bases covered and promises a mythical masterful day out.
