MapleStory‑themed land Maple Island has opened in the outdoor Magic Island area of Lotte World Adventure in Seoul, adding four attractions plus food, retail and live entertainment.

MapleStory‑themed land Maple Island has officially opened at Lotte World Adventure in Seoul, marking a major location‑based step for Nexon’s long‑running online RPG. Located in the Magic Island outdoor section of the park, the zone brings MapleStory’s signature regions and characters into a permanent setting that goes beyond earlier seasonal overlays. For Korean and regional operators, the opening underlines how gaming IPs are moving further into physical themed lands with full ride, retail and F&B line‑ups.

The MapleStory‑themed land covers around 2,000 square metres and recreates locations such as Henesys, Ludibrium and Arcana with oversized props, colour palettes and music taken from the game. Lotte World and Nexon have confirmed four Maple Island attractions, including a family coaster and two additional family rides developed specifically for the zone. An existing Gyro Spin attraction has also been rethemed around the Pink Bean character to knit legacy hardware into the new storyworld.

Guest‑facing ancillary offers sit at the heart of the MapleStory‑themed land strategy. Dedicated shops and the Maple Sweets outlet serve branded food, drinks and merchandise, with demand strong enough to generate long queues during the opening days. A MapleStory in Lotte World festival, running through 14 June, adds projection‑mapping shows, parades and park‑wide decorations that extend the IP footprint beyond the core zone.

Lotte World reports that overall visitor numbers have risen by around twenty percent since Maple Island opened, with foreign attendance up fifteen percent and gains visible across all age groups. Nexon highlights the MapleStory‑themed land as a way to reach families who know the title from different generations, from long‑term players to their children. For the wider attractions industry, the collaboration provides a current case study in how a domestic game IP can drive measurable uplift when translated into a compact but densely programmed themed environment.
