Fun‑Plex has confirmed that the new Mammoth roller coaster will open at the Fun‑Plex waterpark in Omaha this summer, marking the largest ride investment in the park’s history. The Mammoth roller coaster is billed as the biggest of its kind in Nebraska and is designed to strengthen Fun‑Plex’s status as the state’s leading waterpark and ride park. For a regional, mostly seasonal operation, the Mammoth roller coaster signals a clear push into higher‑profile coaster territory.
Rising 70 feet and stretching across roughly 2,000 feet of track, the Mammoth roller coaster will send riders through a series of smooth turns, drops and speed changes that are targeted squarely at families and teens. Trains will seat up to 24 guests, supporting strong hourly capacity within a compact footprint that weaves through the existing ride park. Fun‑Plex positions the Mammoth roller coaster as a step up from past hardware, but with a ride profile that remains accessible to a broad audience rather than extreme thrill‑seekers only.
The Mammoth roller coaster is the anchor for a wider 2026 refresh of the dry‑ride side of the park. The surrounding area will become Mammoth Landing, featuring an on‑ride photo and souvenir outlet, plus The Tusk, a grab‑and‑go unit serving coffee and mini donuts to capture early‑day and evening trade. The park’s Speedway go‑kart attraction will be rebuilt with a new layout and a covered pit to improve throughput and guest comfort. Fun‑Plex will also launch Friday Night Rides, extending operating hours to create a dedicated evening offer built around the Mammoth roller coaster and the upgraded ride park.
