New Andijan park and waterpark plans have taken a significant step forward following the signing of an investment agreement between Uzbek developer Sanderson City LLC and South Korean company U&K Global. The project includes a US$45 million park and waterpark within a wider US$300 million mixed-use development that will also deliver a substantial residential district.
The agreement was signed at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Seoul by Bobirbek Sokhibov, director of Sanderson City LLC, and Lim Sang Hwa, head of U&K Global. The scheme forms part of the continued development of New Andijan, a planned city designed to support the region’s growing population and economic ambitions.
According to details released by Uzbek officials, the leisure element will comprise a modern public park alongside a waterpark with an investment value of approximately US$45 million. The attractions will sit within a wider development covering around 750,000 square metres of residential construction, bringing housing, recreation and public amenities together in a single masterplanned district.
While few details of the attractions have yet been released, the inclusion of a purpose-built waterpark reflects Uzbekistan’s growing investment in tourism and leisure infrastructure. The country has seen several large-scale attraction projects announced in recent years as it seeks to strengthen domestic tourism and attract international visitors.
The New Andijan park and waterpark project also highlights continued cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korean investors across urban development and infrastructure. Officials have indicated that the wider development aims to create a modern residential environment supported by high-quality recreational facilities for residents and visitors alike.
Construction timelines and the selection of ride suppliers, designers or water attraction manufacturers have not yet been announced.
