A new Siam Park in Gran Canarias is set to be built in the region of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.
Canary Islands Government has approved plans for the 160m-euro project which will house a 300-bed hotel and provide over 600 jobs.
It was revealed that Siam Park will stretch a kilometre long on a plot of land in the neighbourhood of El Veril.
The centrepiece of Siam Park will be the ‘Tree of Life’, an artificial tree structure that will reach 32-metres (105ft) high, from which numerous slides will branch out.
The water park project will aim to boost tourism in the area of El Veril, and Siam Park is a significant component of this plan in positioning El Veril as a premier tourist destination in Gran Canarias.
Siam Park is already a renowned name for its globally known aquatic venue in Tenerife. Much like in that water park, the Gran Canarian version is expected to offer various attractions and facilities that cater to families and thrill-seekers – ultimately diversifying the region’s tourism offerings.
