A new Olaf animatronic is heading to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer, fronting “Olaf Draws!”, an Animation Academy‑style class inside The Magic of Disney Animation. The experience will form part of the reimagined Walt Disney Studios Lot area at Walt Disney World, where the Frozen snowman becomes the in-room host for an accessible “learn to draw” offer. “Olaf Draws!” is designed as a repeatable, high-capacity show that blends Disney storytelling with light-touch art tuition for family audiences.
Set in a space themed as an animator’s studio, “Olaf Draws!” seats guests at desk-style workstations while Olaf sits at his own drawing table on stage. The audio-animatronic figure is voiced by Josh Gad, who has recorded new dialogue for the attraction. During each class, Olaf interacts with the room while on-screen Disney artists provide step-by-step guidance on how to sketch characters such as Mickey, Minnie, Genie, Moana and Olaf himself. Early details suggest multiple character options and rotating line-ups, encouraging guests to return for different sessions at The Magic of Disney Animation.
“Olaf Draws!” headlines a wider refresh of The Magic of Disney Animation, which will also feature an “enchanted” art gallery, a Once Upon a Studio theatre show, meet-and-greet spaces and an indoor play area for younger children. The experience brings Animation Academy back to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, this time anchored by a marquee IP-based animatronic rather than a live in-theatre artist. For attraction designers and operators, the project highlights how Disney is using compact, show-driven formats like “Olaf Draws!” to add capacity, deepen character engagement and refresh legacy spaces within existing park footprints. As the opening of The Magic of Disney Animation approaches, “Olaf Draws!” is positioned as the signature draw for the new land.
