Parc Astérix, the Compagnie des Alpes group’s flagship leisure destination, has unveiled an ambitious three-year development plan to enhance its rides and entertainment offering.

As Parc Astérix reached nearly three million visitors (2.9 million) during the 2025 season, plans are afoot to expand the park with an investment of €250 million by 2030.

Parc Astérix planning for the future

Parc Astérix is embarking on a major transformation with a host of new attraction and theming installations.

Next year, the 2026 season will see the first raft of enhancements with the transformation of the Egypt area. The project will include the re-theming of the Oxygénarium attraction, which becomes The Descent of the Nile, Les Chaises Volantes becomes The Flight of Ibis and the Le Cirque restaurant becomes Le Comptoir d’Epidemaïs.

Meanwhile, the 2027 season will feature a renovation in the Greek zone with two new family attractions, a playground and a restaurant, La Table de Dyonisos, with a capacity of 450 seats.

The Greek area will sprawl across 5,000 m² of renovated space with its centrepiece attraction, a Gogo Bounce model ride created by Italian manufacturer Zamperla, where 32 passengers will bounce in a varied of movement connected to eight articulated arms.

Fourth hotel on the horizon

The Park will also welcome a new accommodation facility in 2027: The Odyssée Hotel, a 4* accommodation consisting of a 300-room hotel (High Environmental Quality) and beautiful decor of palm trees, walkways and relaxing areas themed to the adventures of Asterix and Obelix’s as they journey in the East. The inspiration comes from the revered album, The Odyssey of Astérix. The hotel will feature four areas: Persia, Mesopotamia, Egypt and Phoenicia and will be double the size of each of the three existing hotels, bringing the overall hotel capacity from 450 to 750 rooms.

New themed zone

Finally, the 2028 season will see a new themed area introduced: Londinium, a new indoor zone inspired by the Asterix in Britain comic book. This new area will feature an exciting immersive roller coaster manufactured by Intamin. Its story will charter the adventures of the magic potion barrel in Londinium while the ride vehicles will rotate in a variety of movements directed towards exciting immersive scenes.

Meanwhile, an interactive family dark ride will be installed by Alterface. Its four-seater vehicle will take guests on a fun journey where you shoot at targets in six interactive scenes to secure the highest score.

Londinium will be fully themed with a vertical playground, shops and a traditional British pub, featuring actors during Fear on the Park Halloween season, taking place of the Sanglier Borgne. A large indoor area will be dedicated to seasonal entertainment, for instance Halloween scare zones and a Christmas ice rink.

Parc Astérix on the rise

This redevelopment work will create a 20% additional capacity at the park, two-thirds of which will be indoor, reducing dependence on weather conditions.

The redevelopment represents the biggest enhancement at Parc Astérix during its 35-year history. Thus, the park will increase its opening days from 208 to 270 from this season beyond.

The park will also invest in its employee welfare scheme to the tune of €20 million invested in staff facilities over a five-year plan.

The 2025 season will close with the Gallic Christmas festivities featuring a new ice rink and winter fun from 20 December.

Parc Astérix is planning for the future with aspirations to become a top 5 theme park destination in Europe.
