Paultons Park: first details emerge on £12m ‘beyond‑vertical’ coaster for 2026

Paultons Park has outlined the first in‑depth details of the £12m “beyond‑vertical” coaster that will anchor its new themed area opening on 16 May 2026.

The custom Gerstlauer Euro‑Fighter will be the park’s most intense attraction yet, designed to bridge the gap between family thrills and full‑scale white‑knuckle hardware. Riders will climb a 23m vertical lift before plunging down a drop steeper than 90 degrees, creating a pronounced moment of weightlessness as the train tips past vertical. The layout then threads through two inversions, airtime hills and a series of rapid directional changes intended to keep forces punchy but re‑rideable.

The coaster is being built on a site adjacent to Lost Kingdom, effectively extending that side of the Hampshire park with another heavily themed environment rather than a standalone steel structure. While the park has not attached a character IP, the design language follows the highly detailed, story‑driven approach seen in Tornado Springs, with rockwork, landscaping and interactive elements planned around the queue and plaza. Capacity has been a key part of the brief: the ride will use multi‑car trains and a compact block‑section layout to maintain steady throughput during peak days.

For Paultons, the project marks another step in its long‑term strategy to diversify beyond its Peppa Pig World reputation and compete for older family and teen visits without alienating its core audience.
