ProSlide appoints industry veteran Gabi Salabi as chief commercial officer to steer global commercial strategy as water ride investment continues to build worldwide.
ProSlide chief commercial officer Gabi Salabi has joined the Canadian water ride specialist as the company targets its next phase of international growth. Based in Ottawa, ProSlide confirmed the appointment on 5 April 2026, citing the need to sharpen global commercial strategy and support partners across key markets. Salabi will oversee sales, master planning and marketing teams as operators increase spending on high‑performance water attractions. For park leaders, the move signals ProSlide’s intent to match product development with strengthened commercial execution.
Gabi Salabi has spent much of his career in the attractions sector, working on international market development, new attraction launches and team leadership. He has built relationships with major operators and developers, focusing on guest experience and long‑term partnerships. That blend of commercial and operational insight aligns with ProSlide’s push to link ride hardware, planning and lifecycle support. The company sees his appointment as a way to bring additional structure and focus to its worldwide pipeline.
Ray Smegal, president of ProSlide, said the business was looking for a leader who understood both operators’ needs and the dynamics of global projects. ‘Gabi brings a deep understanding of how to offer exceptional value to amusement industry operators and developers, and he has a passion for empowering teams,’ said Smegal. ‘I’m excited to welcome him to the team, and I look forward to the leadership he will bring to ProSlide and our client partners around the world.’ His comments frame the ProSlide chief commercial officer role as central to the company’s partner strategy.
Salabi joins at a time when water parks and mixed‑use resorts are investing in capacity and differentiated guest experiences. He points to ProSlide’s history as a key reason for taking on the role. ‘I’m thrilled to join a world‑class organization and thriving water park industry,’ said Salabi. ‘What ProSlide has accomplished over nearly 40 years is truly remarkable. Few companies in our industry have contributed at such a high level to both innovation and outstanding client and guest experiences. I’m excited and humbled to become a ProSlider and look forward to helping build on that legacy, ensuring these values continue to define ProSlide well into the future.’
The ProSlide chief commercial officer will now focus on aligning commercial planning with product strategy and master planning services. That includes supporting operators as they phase multi‑year water ride investments and balance anchor attractions with family slides and supporting infrastructure. With many parks finalising 2027 and 2028 capital programmes, ProSlide’s strengthened commercial structure is designed to keep the company competitive in both mature and emerging markets.
