The Europa-Park Resort water world has added a new 360-degree VR snorkelling story, developed by MACK One and VR Coaster.
Snorri Snorkling VR – The New Adventure has opened at Rulantica, the water world at Europa-Park Resort in Rust, Germany.
The new paid add-on takes guests below the surface in a 360-degree virtual reality snorkelling experience. It features Rulantica characters Snorri and Bubba in a new underwater story.
The attraction is available to adults and children aged ten and above. Guests must also be at least 1.25 metres tall. Tickets can be booked online with a regular Rulantica admission ticket, or bought on site subject to availability.
The new experience sends guests through sunken shipwrecks, marine environments and a mermaid village. The story begins after the discovery of a mysterious artefact and a chase involving a troll.
MACK One and VR Coaster developed and delivered the project. The two companies are part of the wider MACK Group ecosystem, which has built a growing portfolio around themed entertainment, media production and ride-based technology.
Rulantica has offered VR snorkelling since 2021. The activity takes place in two separate pools opposite the Skog Lagune area. Guests wear a snorkel and VR diving goggles during the experience.
Snorri Snorkling VR – The New Adventure now gives that format a new storyline and upgraded content. It also extends Rulantica’s use of its own characters, rather than relying on third-party licensed brands.
For water park operators, the format is relevant because it uses existing pool infrastructure in a controlled-capacity setting. It also creates a bookable premium experience inside a wider admission-based venue.
The project sits within Rulantica’s broader family positioning. The water world opened as part of Europa-Park Resort’s expansion beyond the main theme park business in Rust.
The named characters remain central to the product. Snorri is Rulantica’s six-armed mascot, while Bubba appears as his crab companion in the new adventure.
