Six Flags Fiesta Texas Reveals Werewolf Gorge for 2027

Six Flags Fiesta Texas has announced Werewolf Gorge, a family launch roller coaster that, upon opening in 2027, will hold the record as the world’s longest in its category.

The attraction was revealed on 30 May 2026 and is set to become both the world’s longest family launch coaster and the longest roller coaster in the park’s history, stretching 4,120 feet. Manufactured by Vekoma Rides, the Dutch roller coaster specialist, the coaster also features a 40-foot drop and an 85-foot elevation change, immersive scenic elements and a climactic finale through a crumbling quarry structure.

The ride delivers a two-minute, 36-second experience with four launches, speeds reaching 45 mph and the highest number of floater airtime elements ever incorporated into a family roller coaster — 32 in total. The 39-inch minimum height requirement is central to its positioning. It places Werewolf Gorge within reach of significantly younger riders than a standard thrill coaster.

Six Flags has drawn on Fiesta Texas’s history as a former limestone quarry to craft the ride’s backstory. According to the attraction’s lore, the coaster occupies the site of the abandoned Silver Strike Mining Company mine. A local entrepreneur named Jasper Bunyan has since turned the location into a roadside tourist attraction with guided mine train tours — a premise quickly derailed by what follows.

‘This is a defining addition to Six Flags Fiesta Texas,’ said Robert Bustle, park manager at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. ‘Werewolf Gorge brings together storytelling, innovation and a bold combination of ride elements that truly sets it apart. It delivers an experience that is approachable for families, yet unmatched anywhere in the world.’

The official reveal was staged under a rare blue full moon on 30 May 2026, aligning with the coaster’s supernatural theme, and concluded with a choreographed drone display forming the attraction’s logo in the sky. The park had been seeding the announcement with cryptic full moon activations throughout the park since 2025.

Werewolf Gorge is scheduled to open in 2027 as part of Six Flags Fiesta Texas’s 35th anniversary season. No specific opening date has been confirmed. The ride will also restore the park’s coaster count to 12 following the closure of Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster.
