Slagharen Lets Guests Choose Their Thrill

The Dutch park has opened Sky Sifter, a 30-metre Zamperla ride with two selectable experiences in one Wild West attraction.

Sky Sifter Slagharen opened to guests on 17 April 2026 at Attractie- & Vakantiepark Slagharen in the Netherlands. The 30-metre attraction gives riders a choice between two experiences before boarding, adding a flexible thrill offer to the park’s Wild West line-up.

Slagharen is broadening the reach of a high-impact flat ride. Instead of serving one thrill profile, Sky Sifter Slagharen lets guests select either a more intense or more accessible programme.

The ride is a Zamperla Discovery Revolution 30, which is the first model of its type in the region to offer full inversion within a programmable dual-experience format.

Guests choose between two routes, named Gold and Silver. The Gold route leads to Full Inversion Mode, with complete rotations and upside-down movement. The Silver route offers Swinging Mode, which keeps the experience upright.

That choice has clear operating value. It can reduce ride rejection among mixed family groups. It can also help the park manage a wider range of comfort levels without adding a second attraction. The ride reaches 30 metres and has a reported capacity of around 540 guests per hour. Its top rotation speed is listed at 15 revolutions per minute.

Slagharen has placed the attraction within its established Western setting. The two queue routes connect with the park’s Gold Rush and Red Bandit Adventure story world.

Sander de Haas, general manager of Slagharen, said: ‘By giving guests the freedom to choose their own level of adventure, we are expanding our Wild West world in a way that is both innovative and true to our identity.’

John Ruisch, creative director at Leisure Expert Group, said: ‘What truly makes ‘Sky Sifter’ special is that the decision is made before the ride even begins.’

The project also reinforces Slagharen’s Wild West identity. With more than 30 attractions, the park continues to combine themed family experiences, thrill rides and short-break accommodation.
