Triotech has partnered with Sony Pictures to bring the Jumanji universe to its XD Dark Ride platform, with Merlin Entertainments set to debut the experience at four Madame Tussauds sites worldwide.
Triotech has launched a Jumanji-themed experience for its XD Dark Ride platform, developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures. The Montreal-based company confirmed the release on 24 March 2026. Merlin Entertainments will debut the attraction at Madame Tussauds venues in Sydney, New York, Hollywood and Las Vegas. It is the first major licensed entertainment IP to enter the XD Dark Ride content library.
The experience places riders inside a jungle mission. Players battle creatures, overcome obstacles and compete for the highest score. Triotech built the content using Unreal Engine, combining real-time interactive gameplay with dynamic motion seats and immersive effects. The format is purpose-built for the XD Dark Ride system.
Ernest Yale, founder and chief executive of Triotech, said: ‘Jumanji is one of the most exciting adventure worlds in modern entertainment, and we’re thrilled to bring that energy to XD Dark Ride. Partnering with Sony Pictures to introduce the platform’s first major IP marks an exciting new chapter for us and we can’t wait for guests to experience the adventure firsthand.’
Yale also addressed the commercial case: ‘Operators have been asking for recognisable experiences that truly resonate with today’s audiences. Bringing Jumanji to XD Dark Ride is a great example of how interactive attractions can bring beloved worlds to life.’
Following the Merlin Entertainments rollout, Triotech will make the Jumanji XD Dark Ride available to operators worldwide from the end of summer 2026. The company developed the content in its own studio. The release responds directly to operator demand for recognisable IP that drives footfall and repeat visitation.
