Universal Studios Japan has officially confirmed the addition of “Villain-Con Minion Blast” to its Minion Park, with the attraction set to debut in summer 2025. This marks the first international installation of the interactive experience, following its initial launch at Universal Studios Florida in 2023.
The attraction is currently under construction in the area formerly occupied by San Francisco Candies, adjacent to the existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem ride. Recent developments include the installation of a prominent “V” emblem on the building’s facade, signaling the forthcoming Villain-Con theme.
“Villain-Con Minion Blast” offers guests an immersive, interactive experience where they can engage in a simulated villain convention, encountering characters from the Despicable Me franchise, including the Vicious 6. The attraction combines a moving walkway with interactive elements, allowing guests to participate in various challenges and activities throughout the experience.
The introduction of this attraction aligns with Universal Studios Japan’s ongoing efforts to expand and diversify its offerings, enhancing the park’s appeal to a broad audience. By incorporating popular intellectual properties and innovative technologies, the park continues to solidify its position as a leading destination in the global theme park industry.
