Lotte World Seoul’s new Maple Island family area opens with three Zamperla integrated rides, combining layered kinetics, capacity and cohesive theming across a compact footprint.
Maple Island, a new family zone at Lotte World Seoul, has opened with a trio of integrated rides from Italian manufacturer Zamperla, reinforcing the park’s focus on kinetic energy and throughput. The installation, completed ahead of the 2026 season, extends a long‑running collaboration between the South Korean park and the Vicenza‑based supplier. Together, the partners have targeted families seeking repeatable experiences that also lift the visual energy of the indoor park.
At the heart of Maple Island is Stone Express, a Zamperla Junior Coaster that acts as the land’s main kinetic anchor. The 11.5‑metre‑tall coaster sits on a 38 by 45.5 metre footprint and offers a theoretical capacity of 712 people per hour, with a minimum height of 90 centimetres when accompanied. Flanking the coaster, Speedway 8 ‘Arcana Ride’ adds a compact racing experience on a 12 by 6.5 metre base, delivering 384 people per hour and accommodating riders from 75 centimetres when accompanied.
Above the area, Eos Tower, a 15‑metre‑high Sky Tower, completes the integrated rides line‑up with a rotating aerial view of the land. The attraction, set on a 6.8‑metre‑diameter footprint and rotating at 2 rpm, has a theoretical capacity of 288 people per hour and a minimum unaccompanied height of 120 centimetres. Collectively, the three attractions layer different motion profiles and intensities to keep the entire zone visually and physically active.
Zamperla and Lotte World Seoul have also prioritised theming cohesion, working with creative teams so that Stone Express, Arcana Ride and Eos Tower read as chapters in one story rather than stand‑alone hardware. ‘Projects like this highlight what we do best: listening to a park’s goals and turning them into a ride mix that fits the audience, the operation, and the story,’ said Davide Donadello, sales & operation manager for China & Korea region at Zamperla. Adam Sandy, roller coaster sales & marketing director, added that the Junior Coaster platform ‘stands out as a workhorse that can be utilised in many different ways’ for parks targeting the 90‑centimetre height bracket.
With a full family ride mix in place for 2026, Lotte World Seoul now has a refreshed platform for future seasonal overlays and IP partnerships in one of its key indoor zones.
