Construction of the upcoming Legoland Shanghai Resort has reached its halfway point.

It is estimated that the Chinese theme park is on schedule to commence trial operations in the spring of 2025 ahead of a full opening in the summer.

Legoland Shanghai Resort commences its build in September 2023. When open, it will consist of a Lego theme park and a themed hotel. It is expected to attract about three to five million passengers trips each year.

Situated in the southwestern outskirts of Shanghai’s Jinshan district, the Legoland Shanghai Resort will become one of the largest Legoland parks globally. This unique flagship park will fuse traditional Chinese culture with elements of traditional water towns only found in Shanghai.

The Legoland Shanghai Resort has been formed thanks to a collaboration between Shanghai Jinshan Urban Construction Investment Group Co., Merlin Entertainments Group, and Denmark’s KIRKBI investment group, which owns 75 percent of The LEGO Group, and China’s media and entertainment group CMC Inc.
