Asia's first Legoland Water Park opened its doors to the public on October 21, promising fun for all the family.

The waterpark, located at the Legoland Resort in Nusajaya, Malaysia, includes more than 20 unique water-based rides and over 70 Lego models in a fully themed environment.

"The rides, slides and attractions are all in full flow and have been enjoyed by the first wave of guests during an exclusive preview period," said operator Merlin Entertainments on the opening day.

The waterpark contains over 3m litres of water and is the largest Legoland Water Park in the world.

The park's highlights include Build-a-Raft River, a unique concept where children can customise their own raft with Lego soft bricks before floating down a lazy river, and Joker Soaker, a fun interactive play structure where children can aim water cannons at one another.

The extra surprise to the Joker Soaker is when a giant bucket pours 350 gallons of water into the wade pool below.

Siegfried Boerst, general manager of Legoland Malaysia Resort said: "We are delighted to be opening the waterpark. It adds a whole new dimension to the Legoland Malaysia experience."

A Legoland Hotel will also open at the beginning of next year.
