Pleasureland in Southport, UK, is planning to cut the ribbon on a new open-air arena in time for the 2014 season.

The arena, which sits alongside the amusement park on Southport's seafront, is served by its own bar, a raised stage area, public conveniences, tiered viewing platforms and a large level area for audiences or marquee stands.

The coastal resort said the space would be ideal for community and youth groups, non-profit organisations, schools and charities.

Further grassed areas create break out space for different zones and camping, caravans and mobile homes can be accommodated. The park will offer a number of free ride passes to event organisers where their events fall during the park's opening hours.
