Eden Project invites local people to create content for Eden Project Dundee

The Eden Project is encouraging local people to assist in the creation of content for the Eden Project Dundee, a development taking place at Dundee’s former Gasworks.

The Eden Project, creators of destinations and projects that explore interconnections between all living things, is inviting residents with personal stories and memories of the Dundee Gasworks site to get in touch. Such information will be used to create a realistic and dynamic narrative of the destination and help shape the visitor experience.

The attraction is to be themed around nine new ‘Guilds’, which are inspired by the ‘Nine Incorporated Trades of Dundee’. Initial ideas of what the ‘Guilds’ will be include Growers, Myth-Makers, Healers, Noticers, Celebrators, Re-Sourcerors and Alchemists.

The Dundee project is expected to create around 200 direct jobs and 300 indirect jobs. It will contribute around £27m each year to the regional economy.

Caishlan Sweeney, Eden Project International’s community campaign manager in Dundee, commented: “As we start shaping the future of the Eden Project Dundee, it’s incredibly exciting to look back to the past for inspiration through authentic connections to the former Dundee Gasworks.

“We would love to hear from anyone who has a personal history with the site or has stories of family and friends to share,” Sweeney added.
