The Grand National is off to the races once more as the celebrated duel coaster has reopened after a period of restoration.

To mark the occasion, the park invited two jockeys to sample the upgraded ride, which was first opened in 1935 and is the only surviving twin-tracked duelling roller coaster in the United Kingdom.
The ride features many famous fences from the celebrated horse race, – racing through Becher’s Brook, Valentine’s and Canal Turn before returning to the Winning Post.

Amanda Thompson OBE, CEO of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, comments, “I’m delighted that the Grand National is under starter’s orders and about to open to guests in time for Easter. It couldn’t have been better timing that the ride will reopen on the same day as its famous namesake is being run
