Gardaland in Italy has announced an enormous animatronic in the guise of a ‘Stone Giant’ has been developed for a new ride that is coming to the theme park.

The ride is based on Jumanji, Sony Pictures’ $2bn film franchise.

The family-friendly dark ride transports guests to a Jumanji-themed world. The ride features several animatronics, including a supersized spider, a hippo and the head and hand of a colossal stone giant.

The head of the stone giant stands at an impressive 6.45m high and is approximately 6m in width. The hand is 4m high and 3m wide.

Aldo Maria Vigevani, CEO of Gardaland, commented on the new attraction: “Gardaland continues on the winning path of licensing agreements with leading global brands.

“Synonymous with adventure, fantasy, fun, action, play and imagination, Jumanji blends seamlessly with Gardaland’s founding values,”.

The Jumanji ride is due to open at Gardaland sometime in 2022.
