Dubai’s ambitious Museum of the Future is nearly completed, with the final piece of the façade having been installed. The museum is dedicated to exploring the technologies and challenges shaping the future.
The museum stretches across 30,000 sq. mt. Its façade comprises of an award-winning stainless-steel structure with illuminated Arabic inscription. The museum features seven floors of exhibition space. The interior is void of pillars and thereby hailed as a “milestone in urban engineering.”
The issue of climate change is at the heart of the museum, which will be powered by 4,000 megawatts of solar energy.
Products for the future of cities and innovative futuristic concepts will be showcased in the museum.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the UAE, attended the ceremony which marks the installation of the final piece of the façade.
“A universal architectural icon, the Museum of the Future combines between our authentic Arab culture and far-reaching ambitions. It is a global engineering icon, but speaks the Arabic language,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum commented.
