New aquarium opens in Mall of Dilmunia, Bahrain

A new aquarium has opened in the Mall of Dilmunia, home to entertainment, retail and dining on Dilmunia Island, Galali, Bahrain.

The aquarium is cylindric in shape and showcases over 2,700 fish in what is the largest mall-based aquarium in the Middle East.

The attraction site stretches over four floors of the mall. Guests can watch and interact with the marine life, either when shopping or dining, or as a standalone activity.

Being 17 metres deep and seven metres in diameter, the aquarium contains around 700,000 litres of seawater.

It is currently home to 2,700 creatures, from over 85 species, including sharks and rays. This number is expected to increase to around 4,000 creatures in the coming years.
