New Legoland may come to Belgium

Listen to this article

Rumours are circulating that Merlin is on track to build a new Legoland not far from Charleroi Airport in Belgium.

The site would stretch for 100 hectares, occupying the former site of a Caterpillar factory in Charleroi, Belgium. Being close to an airport and railway stations, the Legoland theme park would be conveniently located to attract visitors from near and far.

According to some reports, Merlin aims to invest 100 million euros into the project and is looking for an additional 200 million euros from investors.

If developers decide to move forward with the project, the theme park could generate up to 1,000 local jobs. Construction could start within four years.
