The planning application inquiry for the London Resort has been delayed once more. It was expected to begin this month, but the Planning Inspectorate has delayed the formal planning application.
The six-month inquiry will decide whether the £2.5 billion resort in Kent will go ahead. Stuart Cowperthwaite, lead inspector of the inquiry, said the panel does not “have a detailed understanding of the applicant’s proposed consultations and updates.”
It is believed the preliminary meeting for the planning application inquiry will not take place before April next year.
Planning permission for the London Resort was delayed previously due to its “ecological status” and SSSI designation. London Resort Company Holdings is said to be challenging the SSSI designation
On the latest delay, Andy Martin, strategy and communications director at London Resort said: “Giving the UK its first, next-generation theme park and building it from scratch continues to be our goal and we are on-track to deliver it.”
