The Tupac Shakur’s estate has announced a touring museum experience about the late rapper and activist will open in Los Angeles in 2022.
The exhibit will be called ‘Wake Me When I’m Free’, and will kick-off on January 22, 2022, in LA.
The immersive touring experience will be centred on Tupac Shakur’s life and legacy. Following its run in LA at The Canvas at LA Live, the exhibit will travel to other US cities.
The experience is described as “part museum, part art installation, part sensory experience.’ It was developed by Jeremy Hodges, creative director at the Project Art Collective, who worked alongside Nwaka Onwusa, principle curator at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Tupac Shakur was shot dead in 1996. The attraction will feature the iconic late artist’s music, poetry and artefacts. The exhibit will extend across 20,000 sq. ft of curated space.
