The V&A Museum in London (V&A) has joined Kuaishou, China’s leading video sharing mobile platform. The museum officially launched on Kuaishou on August 25.

On its Kuaishou debut, V&A offered users in China who are unable to travel overseas because of the Covid-19 pandemic, the chance to witness a virtual gallery tour of the museum.

The virtual tour attracted around 3.8 million, generating 166,000 likes.

Yi Xuan, senior director of regional cooperation at Kuaishou, said: “The coronavirus blocks physical communications between people from China and other countries but cannot cut the connection and emotion bonding between peoples and cultures. Artistic-cultural heritages are borderless.

“As the leading short video platform in China, Kuaishou is continuously striving its best to introduce the international cultural-artistic contents via social media in China, enabling users to have a better understanding of the world without leaving home,” Yi added.
