Walt Disney Company plans to relocate new central Florida campus

The Walt Disney Company is planning to build a new campus in central Florida. The new venue would mean around 2,000 employees would be relocated from Southern California to central Florida.

More than 60,000 members of staff work for Walt Disney Company in central Florida, including at Walt Disney Imagineering. The 2,000 positions which would need to move to the new location would equate to less than 5% of Disney’s total number of employees in California.

The new campus will be located in central Florida’s Lake Nona.

Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, Josh D’Amaro, said: “Expanding our already significant footprint in Florida makes sense.

“In addition to Florida’s business-friendly climate, this new regional campus gives us the opportunity to consolidate our teams and be more collaborative and impactful both from a creative and operational standpoint,” D’Amaro added.
