Adventure Bay Waterpark opened its doors to the Canadian public on January 18, with the park drawing visitors in their thousands.

The 35,000sq.ft park, located in Windsor, south-west Ontario, welcomed 1,600 guests on January 25 – more than triple the attendance on opening weekend.

"People are looking to escape the cold," said Scott Bisson, acting manager of the aquatic attraction. "Coming here it's almost like a summer vacation. They're enjoying the warm weather inside the park."

Adventure Bay houses a number of attractions, including a wave pool, the Python tube ride, the Whizzard downhill racing slide and a FlowRider surf experience.
