Theme parks in California can reopen from April 1, 2021. Due to newly updated Covid-19 guidelines from the California health department, the likes of Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Universal Studios Hollywood, and other theme parks in the state, can open their doors on April 1.
The rollout of the opening of sites will be classified in tiers, with the red tier 3 being allowed to open at 15% capacity, 2.25% capacity in the orange tier 3, and 35% capacity in the yellow tier 4. Outdoor attractions can accommodate more visitors with social distancing rules in place.
Initially, theme park attendance will be confined to residents in California.
Ken Potrock, president of Disneyland Resort, commented on the reopening of the parks: “We are encouraged that theme parks now have a path toward reopening this spring, getting thousands of people back to work and greatly helping neighbouring businesses and our entire community.
“With responsible Disney safety protocols already implemented around the world, we can’t wait to welcome our guests back and look forward to sharing an opening date soon,” Potrock continued.
