Listen to this article

A new family rollercoaster has been launched at Serengeti Park and Zoo in Germany. Known as ‘Rhyno’, the rollercoaster replaces an old coaster at the amusement park.

Powered by gravity, Rhyno can reach maximum speeds of 16m/s and is designed for children that are more than 90cm in height.

Each car of the coaster can accommodate four passengers, taking the total train capacity to 20 riders. Magnetic brakes ensure a smooth arrival into the station. The rhino theme of the wide was specifically requested by the zoo.

Serengeti Park is located in Hodenhagen in north Germany. The park is divided into three zones, the Serengeti-Safari, Jungle-Safari and Adventure-Safari. The park was founded in 1974 and was extensively renovated in 1983.
