Studio Ghibli Park is set to open in Japan on November 1, 2022, when three of the theme park’s five themed lands will open.
The lands due to open to the public for the first time in the autumn are Dondoko Forest, Springtime of Life Hill and Ghibli’s Giant Warehouse.
Dondoko Forest is focused on My Neighbour Totoro, featuring a replica of Satsuki and Mei’s house, alongside a life-size Catbus and a giant camphor tree.
The Springtime of Life Hill land is to comprise of attractions from Castle in the Sky and Howl’s Moving Castle.
Witch Valley is also based on Howl’s Moving Castle and Kiki’s Delivery Service.
The venue’s two remaining themed lands, Witch Valley and Princess Mononoke Village, are set to open in March 2024.
The theme park is located in Japan’s Aichi Prefecture within the Expo 2005 Commemorative Park.
The project is costing around $323 million and is a joint venture between Studio Ghibli and the Aichi Prefecture government.
