Two popular attractions at Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort are to have major refurbishment work and will be closed for months.

Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is to have a makeover and will not be available for visitors to ride on until mid-April.

At Universal Orlando Resort, the much-loved Revenge of the Mummy attraction is also having refurbishment work carried out. The rollercoaster is expected to close in early January and not reopen until sometime later in the summer.

Universal Orlando will also be permanently closing the Shrek 4D family attraction and its gift shop on January 10, 2022. The attraction, which transports guests into the Shrek films environment, first opened in 2003.
