PortAventura Resort in Tarragona, Spain, has cut the ribbon on Hotel Gold River's new themed Callaghan building.

The Callaghan Building features 78 new four-star deluxe rooms, two of which are fully equipped for disabled access.

With this new addition, Hotel Gold River has now become the largest of the five hotels at PortAventura with a total of 549 rooms.

The new two-storey building replicates the style of the highly fashionable lodges of the 19th century America.

The complex has a private reception, its own bar and restaurant and parking for the exclusive use of its guests.

Coinciding with PortAventura's 20th anniversary, the new Callaghan building is part of the resort's $11m expansion programme.
