When the Royal Gorge Bridge and Park re-opens this summer, the Colorado attraction will be using Gateway Ticketing Systems' flagship Galaxy product suite for ticketing, food and beverage, retail, and access control.

The historic park, which is located near Cañon City and includes the world's highest suspension bridge, was devastated by a fire in June 2013.

The fire destroyed 48 of the park's 52 buildings, but the grand re-opening in August will feature a new restaurant and visitor centre with spectacular views across Colorado's 10-mile Royal Gorge.

The redo of the park also includes a brand new aerial gondola, zip line and roller coaster.

With an anticipated increase in attendance, the park had four main priorities in choosing a point of sale system.

Jeri Neiens, director of administrative services at the park, explained: "We needed a system with robust web store, reseller and resource management functionality along with the ability to accommodate not only our guests, but our trade partners.

"Galaxy was the only point of sale system that could provide all of the stated criteria and priorities."

Gateway Ticketing Systems' business solutions architect, Steve Bell, added: "As a Colorado native, this is a very personal opportunity for me, and I am so pleased to be able to provide a system that meets the needs of the entire venue.

"The Gateway solution provides this amazing attraction the ability to have a unified solution across admissions, retail, and food and beverage and provides them with the tools to drive revenue and improve the guest experience."
