The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser is set to permanently close in September after 19 months due to its expensive costs.

A unique facility which accommodates 100 rooms was billed as fantasy becoming reality, where guests could experience their own sci-fi adventure – to the tune of £4,000 staying for two-nights for two people.

The Starcruiser can be described as a luxury hotel of immersive entertainment with facilities of an interactive theatre, theme park ride, role play activities and gastronomy.

Guests were encouraged to dress up in costume and could practice lightsaber training. Disney cast members participate and added to the unique setting.

“We are so proud of all of the Cast Members and Imagineers who brought Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser to life and look forward to delivering an excellent experience for Guests during the remaining voyages over the coming months,” said Disney on its website.

“Thank you to our Guests and fans for making this experience so special.”

Rumours have been abound that low demand has lead to discounts being given to Disney Vacation Club members this year to attract more guests.

Disney has confirmed that it is looking to find new jobs for the cast members working at the hotel.
