Global wellbeing organization Therme Group has announced that it is working with Incheon Metropolitan City Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok and Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) Commissioner Kim Jin-yong to bring a well-being resort to South Korea.

The partnership with IFEZ will deliver a year-round well-being destination in the city of Incheon, an important gateway to Seoul and South Korea.

The partnership is hopeful the well-being center can welcome upwards of one million people per year. The resort will offer a natural environment delivered through sustainable engineering.

Therme Group, which has resort operations in Europe and last year unveiled plans for Therme Canada, now adds Incheon to its ongoing global development program.

A letter of cooperation between Therme and IFEZ was signed in Frankfurt last week.

Subject to a finalized agreement and a construction-ready site, the resort will take two to three years to complete.

Therme describes themselves as ‘providing a unique, all-season experience. Creating a natural urban oasis where family members of all ages can have fun, relax and unwind from their busy lives – boosting their physical and mental health.’

“Therme Group’s Wellbeing Resort will not only attract tourists to Incheon and help to drive the region’s economy, but it will also boost health and wellbeing in the population as Incheon continues to grow as a leading global city,” said IFEZ Commissioner Kim Jin-yong.

Meanwhile, Therme Group Senior Vice President and COO, Stelian Iacob, added: “Our close partnership with Incheon and IFEZ will enable us to continue our global development program, bringing the world’s most advanced wellbeing concept to iconic locations in cities worldwide.”
