Zamperla's Air Race now comes in many different guises, and 2013 has already seen the opening of two fully themed versions of the ride, the first of which was in Australia.

The Italian amusement giant's iconic Air Race ride continues to enjoy huge success all over the world, with more than 18 examples now sold, including three of the latest model of the attraction since its introduction in December 2012 – Air Race 6.2.

The original theme for the ride was created Zamperla's in-house art department. But very quickly the ride began to inspire art directors at some of the biggest parks around the world.

The first fully themed version of the ride to be developed by Zamperla was the Kung Fu Panda Air Race, which goes by the name of Pandemonium and is the highlight of the brand new Kung Fu Panda: Land of Awesomeness at Dreamworld Australia.

The ride features a new vehicle designed as a rickshaw and a majestic central column decorated as a dragon. But the customisation of the attraction isn't only to be found in the theming – two different ride programmes were created in order to provide two different ride experiences.

The most thrilling programme, called Seriously Crazy, gives mainstream thrill seekers the challenge of 4G upside down, while the alternative, Not So Crazy, provides lighter thrills which will appeal to others.

The second fully themed version of the Air Race opened in April in one of the oldest and most well known parks in the world: Tivoli Copenhagen, in Denmark. This features eagle-themed rider vehicles with a large and elaborate central decoration.
