The eagerly anticipated Nemesis Reborn makeover is nearing completion and riders will once again be able to enjoy the ride as it reopens on 16 March.

Alton Towers has upgraded the ride with necessary maintenance repairs as well as retracking the 716-metre-long ride. The ride has been dormant for 16 months in preparation for its rebirth.

The reinvigorated Nemesis Reborn will feature fresh immersive elements, as Bianca Sammut, divisional director at Alton Towers, points out: “Throughout its first 30 years, Nemesis captured the imagination of millions of thrill seekers from around the globe. It’s been an astonishing privilege to bring this truly iconic ride into the 21st century.

“We’ve retained its essential DNA, while harnessing the most state-of-the-art technology and immersive storytelling techniques to ensure it will retain its status as a truly unrivalled roller coaster experience for a whole new generation.”

Nemesis commenced its fabled story 30 years ago as Europe’s first inverted coaster. Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) were tasked with the build of a roller coaster will reaches speeds of up to 50mph and pulling a 3.5 g-force.

Arriving with an investment of 10m, Nemesis has become one of the most beloved and ridden roller coasters in the world.
