Two Aqualand resorts in France are to undergo expansion with the addition of new slides and attractions. Aqualand Bassin D’Arcachon on the west coast and Aqualand St. Syr Sur Mer in the South of France are to have an upgrade.

Polin, a world leader in the design, manufacture and installation of waterparks, are to work with Aqualand on the extension projects.

Aqualand is Europe’s largest waterpark chain, with sites in Spain, France and Portugal. The waterparks are owned by Aspro Group, the largest waterpark and leisure park operators in Europe.

Aqualand Bassin D’Arcachon on France’s Atlantic coast expands for six acres. The site opened in 1985. One of the main attractions at the waterpark is Polin’s Racer Hybrid waterslide, which features two double-tube slides that run side-by-side along a circular path.

Wilfred Lenandais, manager of Aqualand Bassin D’Arcachon, commented: “We invested 1.5 million euros for the 2011 additions. The new slides enhance the adrenaline throughout the park. We are very satisfied with the new rides. Our guests are as happy as we are as they experience these new, revolutionary waterslides.”

Aqualand St. Syr Sur Mer can be found between Toulon and Marseilles. The waterpark was last updated and expanded in 2004. The operators believe now is the right time to upgrade further in order to maintain its leading position in the sector.

Polin has been involved in expansion projects at Aqualand St. Syr Sur Mer, including carrying out the installation of Black Hole Turbolance waterslide.
