Blackpool Pleasure Beach has youngsters firmly in its mind with its latest grand plan.

The first amusement park in the UK to have a junior team of decision-makers, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, will appoint a new Junior Board of Directors to assist with decision-making and ideas at the park.

The lucky youngsters chosen will fulfill a theme park fantasy – tasked with ‘assisting with the development of new merchandise, marketing of the park and customer engagement strategies,’ according to the park.

The new kids on the block have to be aged between 11 and 15 years old and ‘combine a real passion for fun and adventure with a good head for business.’

The chosen candidates will be appointed for an initial year and have the opportunity to remain on the Board until graduation at the age of 16.

Such is the success of the program, previous members of the Junior Board, have gone on to hold a number of full and part-time positions at the park.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Junior Board was established in 1995 and since then has seen over 60 members take a seat on the board.

CEO of Blackpool Pleasure Beach Amanda Thompson OBE said: “This is such an exciting opportunity for youngsters from across the UK, providing them with fun, thrilling and completely unique work experience.

“The Junior Board offers a fresh insight into how Blackpool Pleasure Beach operates. It’s lots of fun and will look great on your CV.”
