The Big Dipper, a beloved wooden roller coaster at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, is set for a makeover this year.
The fabled fun coaster turns 100 this year and to celebrate its centenary, the park has revealed in a teasing online post that work is to be done on the Big Dipper.
Pleasure Beach state that ‘Something big is happening in 2023’ with the hashtag #BigDipper100.
Pleasure Beach are remaining tight-lipped as to the exact nature of the work but it is expected to commence shortly as details were published.
The Big Dipper has been an iconic ride down the years at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.
In 1994, Roller coaster fan Richard Rodriguez entered the record books with the longest time to spend on the Big Dipper – an impressive 549 hours.
